HAIRDRESSING PROFESSIONAL STANDARD LEVEL 2

An Apprenticeship is a perfect choice if you want to continue your studies and develop your skills, knowledge and behaviours in a specific industry, while also earning a salary in full-time employment; kickstarting your long-term career path.

The Hair Professional Level 2 Apprenticeship is a course that focuses on the development of the underlying principles and practical skills required in the Hairdressing industry. During your Apprenticeship, you will gain a variety of skills such as shampooing and conditioning hair, colouring hair and dressing and styling hair. You will also learn basic cutting and perming techniques.

This is the perfect course for anyone who is hoping to enter the Hairdressing industry and would like to achieve this through a route where you can earn while you learn.

A variety of topics are covered on this Apprenticeship, including:

• Client consultation

• Shampooing and conditioning

• Creating a variety of looks when cutting hair

• Styling and finishing hair

• Setting and dressing hair

• Colouring and lightening hair (with some colour correction)

• Perming

You will attend College one day a week and work in a salon for four days each week, with the hours and times agreed with your employer and the College. As part of your time in the workplace, you will be required to complete your off the job training hours, helping you to develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours to be a successful hairdresser.

You will be assessed throughout your Apprenticeship on a regular basis, in College and work, by fully qualified hairdressing tutors and assessors. Then, nearing the end of your Apprenticeship, you will be required to complete an End Point Assessment which will qualify you to become a Level 2 Hairdresser.

ADVANCED AND CREATIVE HAIR PROFESSIONAL STANDARD LEVEL 3

This qualification will develop learners' skills to the highest level with advanced hairdressing techniques such as colour correction, advanced cutting along with smoothing and strengthening techniques-a unit not covered at all across the department.
Qualifications gained would be Advanced and Creative Hair Professional Level 3 Apprenticeship.
Attending 1 day per week in college. 70% practical 30% theory.

BEAUTY THERAPIST STANDARD LEVEL 2

The Beauty Therapy Level 2 Apprenticeship will allow you to work in the ever-expanding Beauty Therapy industry, whilst achieving a challenging and rewarding qualification. This course is completed in College one day per week, and in a salon for the remaining four days per week; hours and times will be agreed with the employer and the College.

You must complete your off the job training hours including one day in College per week to develop your skills, knowledge and behaviours to be a successful Beauty Therapist.

The course includes both theory and practical based delivery and assessment, and you will also be required to create a portfolio of evidence.

The Beauty Therapy Level 2 Apprenticeship includes the following units:

• Provide waxing treatments

• Provide hand and nail treatments

• Provide facial treatments

• Provide eyelash and eyebrow treatments

• Provide make-up application

• Provide basic massage treatments

You will attend College one day a week and work in a salon for four days, with the hours and times agreed with your employer and the College. As part of your time in the workplace.
